Holy shit. Chaos magic is serious shit.
I delved in it for two years and got incredible results. I was riding a wave of succes and easy money and all the time I vanished thoroughly or so I thought. But yesterday chaos came back to bite me in the ass. We were drinking and smoking dope with my best friend. Something dark came upon us and we went berserk. We plummeted each other and at one point he tried to kill me. Choke me to death. When I came bak to, he was laughing maniacally, so I ran. I haven't seen him or text him since yesterday. The thing is he has access to fuck up my life, undoing all the success I've had in the last two years. So yeah… Chaos is serious business. I will gladly read any and all anecdotes you have similar to this and any words of advise or similar. Namaste
You do realize that
>cannabis makes you more open to spiritual persuasion
>the effect of using magic for material gains creates karmic imbalance and makes you more open to manipulation by higher beings
So basically you got looshed lad.
>>9040
Yeah, what he said
>>9041
had a friend who was a hippie
>cannabis is natural
and all that. But after a year of heavy smoking he went total nuts. His parents took him out of the country for a few months to get him out of it. Went to some tourist resort by the sea far from all drugs.
I can definitely see how someone could get totally fucked up if there's noone to pull them out of it. This guy had no money and had to do what his parents told him, he was lucky to get away.
Do something "ordinary" for a while, don't lose contact with the world, it's just as bad as being an unaware mundane if not worse.
>chaos is chaotic it seems
>not knowing the principle of Cause -> Effect
>not knowing there is complete order in the universe
All of what happened is just you being very spiritually weak. Perhaps you should take up more serious practices then "chaos" magic.
>>9044
>not knowing there is complete order in the universe
>order
Pffft…
>My father died on a car crash on my sister birthday
>while at the funeral, my uncle (my dad's brother) dies of a sudden stroke.
>Two weeks later my grandma (my mom's) dies of a heart attack
>my feelings we have to be on suicide watch every my sister sees a birthday candle
Order… Sure
Now you guys are gonna cite a rule that looks like this:
>x resembles nothing to x but it is actually x because I need to believe so.
>the effect of using magic for material gains creates karmic imbalance and makes you more open to manipulation by higher beings
Says who? And karma? Anyone actually believes in that shit anymore?
>>9045
3 deaths with no apparent reason nor justification is perfect order.
And you have to say:
>Order is not for humans to understand. Order can seem chaos for humans. Therefore:
>x resembles nothing to x but it is actually x because I need to believe so.
>>9047
>Says who? And karma? Anyone actually believes in that shit anymore?
Hermetic Karma=Law of Cause and Effect
If you don't understand how action predicates reaction you don't understand magic at any level.
ex nihilo nihil fit
>>9053
>If you don't understand how action predicates reaction you don't understand magic at any level.
Hey, I don't claim to. But I just don't see how making myself rich would or even SHOULD have a "karmic" backlash.
>>9048
>no apparent reason nor justification
>apparent
I'm not saying the universe is perfectly ordered, because I don't know. But you can't say it isn't just because bad things have happened to you and you can't see the reason why. Human beings have very little insight into why things happen.
>Therefore x resembles nothing to x but it is actually x because I need to believe so.
Don't twist my words, that has absolutely no resemblance to what I'm saying.
Sorry for your loss by the way. I know how pain can make things seem disordered.

Seeking personal wealth above other things is the manifestation of selfishness and greed, or will end up inculcating selfishness and greed. These things will bind you to lower forms of existence and prevent you rising higher.
>SHOULD
I don't think should has anything to do with it.
>>9047
It's not about some vague "karma" but rather a matter of balance of materials. If you use x method to get something you are competing in x field. Then you will be the target of individuals with these same skills. At first you'll have success because noone cares about some newb, but if you persist they'll stop you and take back what you gained. You still need to play politics in all areas.
This is kinda like someone who tries to make some cash but doesn't realize he's selling on the territory of another group. It's a common phenomenon. You're left alone if you seem like a casual because noone wants to bother exposing that they care if you are going to leave soon. If you stay, you're a problem and need to conform to the rules in this area.
Talking of principles here.

>doesn't understand Hermetic Karma
>doesn't understand Law of Cause and Effect
>>9053
>>9083
>Hermetic Karma
Last time I checked it was called just "karma".
>>9045
I'm sorry for your losses, but what does this have to do with Order?
>>9071
>Seeking personal wealth above other things is the manifestation of selfishness and greed, or will end up inculcating selfishness and greed. These things will bind you to lower forms of existence and prevent you rising higher.
This is the current predicament I'm in. My motivations to use magick for material gain is only to increase the time I have to practice magick. If I don't have to work all the time I am afforded the freedom of time.
Where is the balance? I don't want a giant house tons of shit xbox one bla bla bla I want a 1 bedroom (or studio) apartment and my utility/food bills paid for.
>>10229
>Where is the balance?
Working to indulge yourself or to flatter your ego is bad. Working to gain security or freedom or to do good is fine. You have to be the judge of where one passes into the other, though. Some people are obsessed with security to the point where they can never hoard enough money. And some people want the freedom to buy whatever they want, go wherever they want, do whatever they want. These people have obviously crossed the line into greed, but they might not know it. However, I think that if you're struggling to pay the bills you have a legitimate reason to want more money and you don't have to worry about this issue for the time being.
>>10229
Have you ever considered that working can give satisfaction and grow the virtue of humility?
Do you think if you reach some sort of enlightenment you'd have earned the cosmic right to avoid all work including washing your dirty dishes?
Don't kid yourself.
>>10238
>>10236
I see what you're both saying and I think what I should be doing is working towards changing my situation instead of attempting to alter the current situation to fit my desires.
I can practice magick anywhere there's no reason to root myself in an area with a high cost of living, which requires a higher paying job, which could demand more hours, etc.
Thanks anons.
The point of chaos is that…
Yeah fuck. Can you talk about chaos? Isn't anything you say about it a sort of rule?
You don't know shit about chaos, because you do. Now order some food or something, friend.
