BLACK

Associations: Almost no colour, it absorbs light. Unlike other colours, black reflects very little, if any, light back to the viewer. This can give the false impression that black is the absence of colour. It is actually the absence of colour reflection. Think of this colour as a black hole in space. It absorbs all light with little or no reflection back, thus it becomes a receptacle or a transporter for all that you do not need or want. Properly used, it can be one of the most useful and powerful colors available. However, misused, it can cause disaster.

Planet: Saturn

Day: Saturday

Energy: Female

Colors: Dark blues, Black, Dark Browns and most dark colors

Used For: Meditation rituals, uncrossing rituals and spells to banish evil and negativity, to break up a blocked or stagnant situation. The Crone, the unconscious.

Black Spells: Use in rituals to induce a deep meditative state, or to banish evil or negativity as in uncrossing rituals; attracts Saturn energy.

Magickal Purpose: Absorption, why it is used for funerals. The void of all colors, it has the ability to absorb Quiet power, self-control, restriction, depression sickness, but new changes, rebirth. Wisdom, Control, Resilience, Discipline.

Personality: Someone who often dwells in his own dark recesses.A loner, but through choice. A strong silent type but someone you don't want to deal with if crossed. A night person as the darkness seems to be their safe place, their solace and quiet space. The things that make the "black" person unique, has also the tendency to dwell on things and has more bouts of depression than most others. This person tends to keep a lot of secrets.

Seriously, what does that mean that the energy is "Amazon Female"?

Gonna read all colors in-depth later, as I don't have much time now.

Seeker 2016-01-25 04:20:22 No.475

Only skimmed through this thread but it is very interesting and I will study it later.

Here are some of my personal findings on colors.

In my home I felt there was an energy difference from room to room and when I examined further I found this was mostly related to objects and colors in the rooms.

Moving objects was easy and made a noticable difference but what made a huge difference was changing the color of the room.

Putting different color cloths (thin cotton by the yard in this case) over the windows and the sun shining in the rooms gives a certain color glow and the energy changes dramatically.

Currently I have green in the living room and kitchen and white in the bedroom and bathroom. Meditating in my living room while the sun is shining gives this rich green glow through the room and feels very nice. A walk from there to the bedroom or bathroom and the energy changes completely.

This is really a simple change you can make to your home to have a substantial effect.

Gold (the metal) is very pretty to look at. It has a feeling of richness to it (not specifically richness as in money). If you can get the sun to shine on it the effect is amplified greatly, fire light works well too. Gold is very expensive so the average person will likely not have it lying around but if you have the extra funds it is well worth it. I have heard that american golden eagles (1 t oz) have a rather unique tone to them when stuck that lasts for a long time.

I agree, though I checked that list and obviously a few of these things are actually real and quite important to spirituality if you let them be - for example obviously astral projection and aura view or less obviously bilocation, Oneirokinesis and biokinesis.

The worst part of those lists is not that cringeworthy kids are taking spirituality and turn it into roleplaying, that's still better then them having no spiritual experience at all, they can still learn from this. No, the problem with it is that it makes actually very real and interesting fields of spiritual study seem like bullshit when really it would be extremely helpful if we were to explore it further and make it more accessable for others. Bilocation is a good example. Noone talks about it here yet for most it's the first step towards astral projection. Just sayin.

I have a few questions I'd like to ask - what are the sources on all those colorful charts that you post? Why for example green prevents decay and purifies on one chart and on the other it is connected to the East? Who made those charts? Is it based on personal experience, and if it is then how do we know that it contains anything universal to all human condition? All this shit looks made up. If you look hard enough you can find any connection you'd like, in pretty much every random pair of things. So, explain to me if you will, why the significance of the colors is how it is in the charts and in the OP. During my various studies in different systems I found mentions of a totally different "significance" of the colors, different connection than the ones you posted. Naturally the question arises - do the colors have any intrinsic meaning or is it all subjective?

Secondly, what we call as colors is just a very small part of the electromagnetic spectrum. Pic related. There is no difference between the "color" green and the microwave radiation, except for the wavelength and the fact that human visual apparatus can only see so much. Why don't we talk about "radar energy"? Or maybe lets map microwaves to the Tree of Life and chakras and the Watchtowers and whatnot.

Please explain why

> If one is "saturated with blue energy" why would he react differently to yellow to someone who is, lets say, "saturated with white energy"?

Doesn't have to be reacting differently, I should correct my statement from my first post.

Let's try this:

Do you know the mathematical concept of vectors?

It can be the same "yellow" vector all the time, but depending on the location where you put him (blue or white saturated), the vector will point to different destinations, thus ending up with different subjective states. The effect of the yellow was constant though.

What do you think about this approach? It basically means that 2 people who are in the exact same state will perceive the color's effect exactly the same way. But to have 2 people in exactly the same state is next to impossible so their reactions to a color differ.

>Do you know the mathematical concept of vectors?

Do wizards wear pointy hats? That's just my fancy way of saying yes :^)

>What do you think about this approach?

First of all, you assume the color to be a vector and a point (or plane) in some N dimensional space (N = 2 in your pic) and these are completely different things. Or maybe you just worded it poorly.

So "white" person is affected by yellow (a vector) and ends up in a point that would be a "blue" person, while "blue" person affected by yellow ends up in, for example, "red" person's position.

By "[insert color]" person's position I mean their energetic state.

But, what if a "blue" person, affected by yellow ends up in "green" person's position? That would require some other vector than the "yellow" one because you not only change the starting point, but also the direction.

In other words the theory still is meaningless unless we somehow prove that indeed there is only one state the "blue" person can end up in after being exposed to yellow.

Also, what about my second part of post? With microwaves and whatnot.

Now I see that the analogy with vectors is faulty, because if you apply yellow to "blue" person and they end up in different place (being now saturated with energy different from both blue and yellow) what if you repeat the process? What if you repeat it ad infinitum as you can do with a vector? Where will they end up?

>Also please consider the electric and magnetic fields around you if you want to draw a connection of this theory to real-life.

I wrote a detailed response first but after pondering a bit more you seem to be right.

The nature of our universe allows us to draw our own color chart and start believing in it to make the effects of a color on ourselves true.

It's worth mentioning however that the wavelength chart does apply in this physical reality. This means that colors aren't subjective perceptions after all.

Like you said, the visible light is just a small part of the electromagnetic spectrum, so I assume that energetic differences in colors are too subtle to be of real importance and can be overridden with the believes of our choice easily or maybe not - I haven't fully experienced yet to what extent the objective laws of the physical realm can be overridden through will

This

>It's worth mentioning however that the wavelength chart does apply in this physical reality. This means that colors aren't subjective perceptions after all.

Yeah, colors are, but the effect of given color on human psyche (or the "energetic state" if you'd like to call it this way) is not.

Also, as a someone who came to the realization at young age that there is no way to prove that perceivable world exists, and inevitably became fascinated with solipsism, I must object.

There is no way to prove that the color that I perceive and the color that you perceive are the same.

This isn't of course an argument against certain wavelengths affecting us in certain, fixed way, but just something that came to my mind during our discussion.

Nevertheless, for anyone who spent any amount of time in society, it is clear that majority of people react similarly to various stimuli. Is it social programming, I don't know. We all know (or at least to me it seems that we, whoever "we" are, know) that people are predictable.

It's not that big of a stretch to assume that people would react to a given color in similar fashion.

I assume that if we had a large population of test subjects, the overall reaction to a given color would be similar.

So, maybe YOU as an individual react to a color in your own way, but a large population has it's preference in the way it reacts. But who cares about brainwashed mundanes anyway?

Or maybe I'm wrong, I don't know. People seem the same to me anyway, so my view of statistics and the individuality of an average mundane is a bit skewed.

I think it's as >>2727 said, colors themselves are subjective but we humans and society have build around them a certain meaning that accompanies our thoughts, maybe it comes from something like a collective consciousness, hivemind or just from social conditioning. We have assigned to colors a certain meaning, a certain "personality" probably because of our human nature.

I suppose it is important to study the associations that we have for every color, but don't really believe that they have some magical powers on themselves. Or they do, but it is because we do have magical power in ourselves. Colors work because we let them work. Candles work because we use our intention and our will. If you were blind, it would probably be the same if you lit a red candle or a blue candle , what would be important would be the color you thought the candle had. For example, if a blind person asked for a red candle for a ritual and I handed them a blue candle, I think the ritual would never regardless because in their mind's eye they would have a red candle. If my will was stronger than theirs and I willed a blue candle, then my intent might collide with theirs, but I just forgot about the blue candle I would expect things to operate as if the candle was really red.

Pic semi related, things like traffic lights are imo a clear example of how certain colors are associated with certain things, for example red is "Do not trespass" and green is "Please come in". At least in most places, this is how traffic colors work. A lot of people drive cars and therefore have to operate with this system of meanings, so sooner or later they start attaching personalities to the colors, depending on their own personalities at the moment of encountering the color. A person that comes across a sign in unreadable letters but that has a red background, will call back memories of previous situations and act accordingly, probably stopping the car or just not proceeding ahead unless more information is given.

The Triangle image with the Zodiac, Gems, Rays, etc., I'm honestly not sure it's source, but it feels right and correct, so I posted it in the hope that it may help other seekers.

The Star of David shaped color chart is derived from Dinshaw Ghadiali's work with bio-medical applications of light via his Spectro-Chrome.

>Is it based on personal experience, and if it is then how do we know that it contains anything universal to all human condition?

The second and third ones have recieved extensive testing, through out the ages, probably the 4th one as well, but there is less evidence (that I've found) supporting that. In addition the last 2 have also been applied quite extensivly in turn of the century medicine (at least before the AMA stepped in and started regulating everything that was not kosher).

>So, explain to me if you will, why the significance of the colors is how it is in the charts and in the OP.

Much of what is posted in the original posts is still working theory, not nearly as hard nor as scientific as some of the info found the the above charts, but still at least better than nothing for the experimentalist; /fringe/ is a place for us seekers to gather our scientific findings of magic, our collective magical research, and see what fits and does not.

>Naturally the question arises - do the colors have any intrinsic meaning or is it all subjective?

They do have intrinsic metaphysical-vibratory power/meaning, but they can also have subjective interpertations (though such does not change the actual energy emitted by the aforementioned color, it may flavor how one views/feels about it untill said blockage is harmonized).

>There is no difference between the "color" green and the microwave radiation, except for the wavelength

The wavelength, being the physical manifestation of the energy, is more so what is being addressed rather than the color per se (as even color blind people would respond like a normal person to certain colors).

And as an aside, on a totally different topic. Some directed at >>2706 You are partially correct about vectors, depending on where a person is colors will effect them differently, in that the path from where they are to the resonate state of being attuned with the color of X will vary, but it will always move the person torwards the state of being X untill it is a totality (or untill another vector comes in and/or overpowers).

>Red is also a baser color (that of the root chakra)

The color of chakras isn't something objective. Various tantras give various colors, numbers and locations of chakras.

In one tantra I read, from Kaula school, red was ascribed to the uppermost chakra (and also to all 8 of them by the way).

This is exactly what I meant in my previous posts - there is no unification in descriptions of colors and their characteristics. Were the characteristics of colors something objective, wouldn't the descriptions be more unified?

To you red seems base and is connected to base urges, to tantrikas from about a thousand years ago it was not. Who is right? I mean - there certainly has to be someone who is right and many others who are wrong, right? :^)

Everyone seems to think that such things are set in stone while in fact they are not. People seem to only know about one system of chakras among many others - the one which was adapted in the West, therefore they think that muladhara is red and ajna is violet (or indigo? I don't even know as I don't use said system). It's just some one random system, not even the oldest or most complex. If the transmission of occult knowledge from India was slightly different you would have no idea about "red being the color of root chakra".

Chakras have whatever color you want them to have.

Also, just a little something about chakras one may find interesting:

Which one? I mean, do you imply there is one Eastern and one Western system?

Because there is no one "Eastern system" even more so than there is no one "Western system". For example, the umbrella term "Hinduism" was coined about a hundred years ago by Westerners thinking that Hindu have to have some "one faith" much like the Westerners do. In fact Hinduism have consisted of countless sects, often being in disagreement with each other. So, to what Eastern system are you referring to specifically?

And also, so what if one picture is from West and the other from East? Do people in India have different colors than people in USA? If the properties of certain wavelengths are indeed something tangible then shouldn't they be the same no matter the geographic location?

If this where not the case the above would not be possible not word the cultivation of energies via color act in a largely predictable and consistent way.

I read that, awhile back actually. However most are not aware of that and use the 6+1 (7) system as the system, so for ease of communication I'll use that to communicate with. What was meant by the statement

>Red is also a baser color (that of the root chakra)

Is that red stimulates certain energies, by nature of its energetic being and resultant physical wave length (which is longer aka less complex, less data, less energy-density), which result in certain manifestations, those of a grosser nature, compared to that of a higher frequency.

>To you red seems base and is connected to base urges, to tantrikas from about a thousand years ago it was not.

It can certainly have higher manifestative forms, higher octaves, however for your average mundane, or even neophyte, the latter uses are not something very tangibly applicable and by not being of a high enough vibration to actually awaken the higher chakras, it's basically moot.

>Who is right?

Both, spirituality is very strange like that, often multiple seeming contradictory things are true.

>Chakras have whatever color you want them to have.

They can, of course, but what is the most efficient one to use? That is the question worth asking.

>Which one?

I stated that, the Taoist application of Fung Shui

>I mean, do you imply there is one Eastern and one Western system?

No, but in large, there are more commonalities between various systems that are closer in geographic origin than those not.

>so what if one picture is from West and the other from East?

One metaphor and way of working with the energies of X, the best way? probably not, but certainly a way, and one that stood the test of time at that, so it's worth investigating further.

>Do people in India have different colors than people in USA?

Probably not though I haven't personally been there in verify that personally.

>If the properties of certain wavelengths are indeed something tangible then shouldn't they be the same no matter the geographic location?

They should be similar in energetic application, yes, however as stated above, may not be.

>which result in certain manifestations, those of a grosser nature, compared to that of a higher frequency.

So, from your point of view, being exposed to radio waves (which are everywhere and are going through you even now) would promote extremely gross forms, even grosser than those of red? On the other hand, if I visualized myself as enshrouded in gamma rays, would I gain something subtle?

>It can certainly have higher manifestative forms, higher octaves, however for your average mundane, or even neophyte, the latter uses are not something very tangibly applicable and by not being of a high enough vibration to actually awaken the higher chakras, it's basically moot.

I'm lost here. What octaves of red are you talking about, what vibration? If particles vibrate higher they cease to be red, because they change their wavelength. There is no "mundane" red and "high vibration red being able to awaken the higher chakras". What do you even mean by "awaken the higher chakras"? Chakras need not to be awaken, they are just focal points of energy.

>Both, spirituality is very strange like that, often multiple seeming contradictory things are true.

That's what I meant, but apparently you don't get sarcasm.

>They can, of course, but what is the most efficient one to use?

In the tantra mentioned earlier one used different colors to achieve different things. It's not the matter of efficiency, just of personal preference.

Chakra colors are arbitrary. Also, I'm curious as to why you would write "animal" like you did: "ani-mal".

My experience with frequencies too far outside of visible light are they are often (though not exclusively) disharmonic/destructive to the soul. But it really depends on the power relative to the soul.

>On the other hand, if I visualized myself as enshrouded in gamma rays, would I gain something subtle?

I can not say, I have not tried such, perhaps if it is a harmonic interval.

>>It can certainly have higher manifestative forms, higher octaves, however for your average mundane, or even neophyte, the latter uses are not something very tangibly applicable and by not being of a high enough vibration to actually awaken the higher chakras, it's basically moot.

Red in the astral is not the same as red on Earth, that is all I can say.

>[Chakras] are just focal points of energy.

This is true

>What do you even mean by "awaken the higher chakras"? Chakras need not to be awaken.

If your chakras are not flowing (much) energy through them, because your soul is not consciously interacting with them, I would call them inactive. By learning to become aware of them and, at will, wield the energies they govern/focus you can activate them.

>That's what I meant, but apparently you don't get sarcasm.

You forgot you </sarcasm> tag, you should know it does not translate well to text.

>In the tantra mentioned earlier one used different colors to achieve different things.

Agreed.

>It's not the matter of efficiency, just of personal preference.

And this is where I disagree, perhaps we'll just have to agree to disagree untill more data presents itself (in an objective way).

>Chakra colors are arbitrary.

I disagree.

>Also, I'm curious as to why you would write "animal" like you did: "ani-mal".

The latin roots of ani-, from animus, means life, or movement & the root of mal- is malus, which means bad or ill, in this case the it's the animated nature of the lower, or corrupted/worldly self compare to the perfection of the divine.
