Allowing people to view monsters in another virtual dimension, past 3rd-density reality.
Creating a virtual world above our current, boring, physical world. Combine with Oculus Rift, Google Glass, etc - people walking around in a extra dimensional fantasy land unrelated to actual reality.
People are already immersed in TV, video games, porn, beliefs and ideologies, social media, etc. They are dependent on ego-satisfying virtual dimensions for happiness. This will make it physical and real.
What is next to come?
The world won't end because of wars or disasters.
It will end because where are too distracted by entertainment.

Basic income, legalization of marijuana, virtual reality sex/pornography, depopulation of rural society, and almost zero car ownership due automated driving services; all part of the course to make a completely docile, passive, thoughtless, and zombified society that is too preoccupied with watching Netflix and playing Pokemon GO then anything else.
What is the purpose of such society? I have no idea but it is on the horizon.

So according to Facebook, this is the future - people wearing these AR/VR glasses instead of the phones they carry now. We clearly have the technologic potential, after Google Glass, Pokemon Go, and Oculus Rift. I am certainly interested in seeing what will happen, how many people will embrace the technology, how this will affect today's political struggles.
