Another idea: we could use this same method to build a bigger userbase, slipping cards with fringechan.org into occult books.

We could also use it to build a legitimate illuminati network with practical work given to the applicants. A set of options for progression through grades would be given with the focus on spreading discord rather than spiritual work, proof of spreading discord would be required to be let into the super secret headquaters where spiritual development takes place (fringechan). I'm sure we can get more creative than just illuminati cards, I heard about someone on 420chans /spooky/ knocking on strangers doors offering them cash in exchange for their souls. We could have a card for soul selling say at a believable price of $50-$100 and a phone number for a scientology or government department.

We could also follow a simple method of opposing ideologies. Pro-abortion activists with phone numbers of anti-abortion activist groups. Anti-drugs to legalisation groups, pro-drugs to prohibition groups. Attend protests to distribute them.

There are places the jobless congregate that I'm sure you are already aware of, dress appropriately and have your presentation well rehearsed and you just may get some souls. As well as willing servants to do you bidding. Send them on secret missions if you like. Keep them close as guards. Get them to gangstalk gangstalkers. Have them sent out as spies, eyes and ears to recruit more members.

Do libraries check books when you hand them back in? I'm guessing it'd be best to go to a library pretend to read a bunch of occult books and slip a card into each then put them back on the shelf. Take some paper with you and make notes as an extra cover.

Other types of books could be used too, Dennis Wheatley, Lovecraft and books on mythology or religion perhaps.

In the illuminatus trilogy Hagbard Celine (see op's name) uses business cards to "wake up" people, for example he uses "there is no friend anywhere" and "there is no enemy anywhere" and can tell within two minutes of talking to someone which card is required to jolt them out of their mental chains and make them question things.

I think before going for a direct action plan one should first concentrate on building the network.
My suggestion is first trying to build a mesh network and if that can be pulled off then that network would easily function as the base from which to coordinate direct action.

It would be robust and secure and building it would be a minimal initiation ritual which would promote group identity.

But the point is, to really get a thing like this to get off you need to create local lodges so that members operate locally but network globally.

This is just called political organization and there are no limits as to how far you can take it, so much more can be done than just handing out leaflets. These kind of networks could become financially self sustaining and coordinate revolutions. But of course you have to start somewhere and that somewhere should be local group activities.

RAW's books are great but they are great because he studied secret societies, political groups, terrorist cells etc. Basing a network on his books seems risky to me, can the image of discordianism really hold together a strong network? Does it have enough pull?
I think ideally you'd want to keep the image of the network a bit confusing and vague so that you have more maneuvering room for what kind of symbols and ideas to associate with, so that you can them as tools to be pulled out whenever necessary. Projecting one image although effective in uniting is fragile and to be strong the network needs to be antifragile and adaptive, it needs to project many images and if there is some central image it needs to be kept secret.

Carl Schmitt theorized that politics begins at the identification of a common enemy. This is also important for the network, but it is also a very delicate thing. Your mention of fascism already identified you as an antifascist in the minds of possible members and so you endangered the whole network to be identified by antifa-haters as just yet another group of "those people" ie. their enemies. However antifas and fascists are both to the large part young students that share a large amount of affinity so it shouldn't be impossible to conceive of the antifa and the fascist both participating in the same operation under auspices of combating the capitalist or the Jew.

The conception of the enemy could be built in a layered manner with picking out multiple hate targets and then synthesizing some into new targets, which are secrets maintained in layers until at the center there is one all compassing enemy, the Illuminati, a mythological entity that does not exist until the network itself becomes it and can then start the process of self-destruction.

But still, the oft forgotten keywords for getting anything going on at all are: LOCAL , GROUPS .

Based on how discordianism has turned out, mostly after seeing the discordian reddit someone posted here, I'd say the meme has spread in an awful way mostly because of the lolrandum aspects.

The core idea of every man, woman and child is a pope, each pope is infallible, can excommunicate other popes etc, is a good basis for an individualist network so far as people don't completely miss the point and just play it out.

The illuminatus trilogy lays out discordianism as it should be, as seperate cells fighting the "illuminati" and green pilling people.

I think we can be fairly certain that this whole scenario has played out many times before inspired by RAW.

This is Hagbard Celine's method in the illuminatus trilogy, he entraps people so he has some level of control over them and identifies his group with an opposing ideology to the initiate to test them before revealing that the central ideology is green pilling/discordian and not concrete at all. In practical application it would be be easier to be vague from the start.

I think discordianism, especially how its portrayed in illuminatus, is best used as a rough guide on how to function rather than a meme to follow.

Local groups are absolutely the way to go.

But if you don't organize then you are divided and conquered. Constant focus on the self is a new mode of oppression where the self is seen as a property with a value requiring constant maintenance and regulation.
We aren't directly controlled by any particular institution but we are tasked with controlling ourselves so that our value doesn't plummet in various markets that are taboo to even recognize to exist. This is the worker of the information economy constantly working on himself and the various images he projects in social networks and the task of his oppression is carried out by he himself.
The reaction to this self-oppression is anxiety, which is felt by everyone to some degree in modern society. We shouldn't combat this by locking ourselves into our separate space ships and letting the markets(or the players that hold most sway in them) dictate our fate but by gathering in resilient networks that provide for their nodes that then educate their surroundings.

Mindfucking is a great idea, it is the ultimate terrorism and it carries the message of antifragility, that is that to survive one needs not a robust worldview that can sustain a few unpredictable events but something that feeds on unpredictable events.
A mindfuck is an overload, something experienced by anyone who dares open his or her horizons. It is the natural condition for us here, an antifragile organization would have to feed off of this constant confusion.
