I saw someone ask if we could make a huge reading list, so we might as well make it on the already existing thread on stormchan's /study/, http://stormchan.org/study/res/684.html

All you have to do is dump any and all occult knowledge books there, discuss them here, and read a shit ton of books. I already did this (http://stormchan.org/study/res/738.html) so there will be some books there. Please dump any online books you have. If we've suggested a book but nobody has it please download it online for us to read.

So far I put some stuff at random into practise when I have the time but otherwise I read over it all and then think about going back to it later when I have a much expanded knowledge for further application of the knowledge.

I successfully applied a few things in The Book of Knowledge to great effect. I managed to heal to cause a general healing of my whole body which removed a couple of problems and I did some chakras meditation and followed the advice it had pertaining to martial arts and for the first time in years when I went to Judo today I defeated most everyone there many times over. Normally I just get thrown over & over & over and rarely manage to throw anyone else even once but I keep going all the time because life's a struggle that never ends but things have changed for me now.

I specifically focused on the Manipura Chakra and holy fuck this changed so much for me.

Absolutely EVERYTHING written there changed for me. Self-esteem up, warrior energy up, digestion and metabolism up, etc. and I was way more aggressive than normal.

Another thing is that I am always quiet and never make any noise but this time because I held my focus the whole time I was fighting on the chakra, visualizing it as a orangey yellow ball (sometimes red, I keep changing the colour between red and orange and yellow), and the result was that I moved absurdly fast and my own breath kind of moved with me and I'd let out these noises / warriors shouts if you will AUTOMATICALLY because of the deep energy coming from this chakra which was empowering me.

I thought chakras were bullshit but I have literally experienced immense change from half-assedly going through the process of opening them and meditating upon them. I'll probably be even more powerful when I really do this proper.

Just focus on the area the chakra is located, visualize the correctly coloured ball, and draw in the energy into it.

…that's the tl;dr anyways. If you want proper instructions just do what it says in The Book of Knowledge from Page 14 to Page 15. You WILL feel the effects and it will make a lot of things better for you.

This. I cried the first time I activated and cleansed my chakras, the feeling of the energy was overwhelming. Whenever I'm sad I cleanse my chakras and I get a huge smile that I can't get rid of, which then leads me to spread more happiness to others.

I have no idea why people always recommend Regardie's GD, it's completely useless unless you're actually in the GD (e.g. you only really 'get' the Neophyte ritual after you undergo it irl). The rest of the material is of very limited benefit for a solo practitioner as well.

Imo, a much better intro to the Golden Dawn is the Cicero's 'Essential Golden Dawn', it's literally a tl;dr of how the system works

As an ex-hermit I can confirm that magical insight comes from detaching from social contact for a long time and then re-engaging.
