Why should I start into the Occult?

Also, where should I start? I've read up on Thelema , Goetia, and Wicca so far. I know the basics of the LBRP but I don't memorize the names of the angels. I've only performed rituals from the Joy of Satan Ministries (BAD IDEA)

Any help?

Pic unrelated, Goetic sigils.

Frater K., is it you? Haha.

I know what to read, but I just need info or someone to talk to about it.

I'm not Frater K. , just posting useful information and links.

Did you enjoy the Julius Evola book by the way?

Assuming that you read it.

>Why should I start into the Occult?

To experience the divine reality, to acquire greater power, to perfect your being, to free yourself from the mundane, etc.

>Also, where should I start? I've read up on Thelema , Goetia, and Wicca so far. I know the basics of the LBRP but I don't memorize the names of the angels. I've only performed rituals from the Joy of Satan Ministries (BAD IDEA)

Anywhere but Wicca, Goetia, Thelema, and JoS. All incredibly shitty starting points. Seriously, Wicca is the absolute worst.

Start off with Hermeticism, Gnosticism, and reading and understanding the stuff on montalk.net

Read the material in the sticky on /fringe/ also I forgot to mention chaos magic fuck. Chaos magic is the absolute best paradigm.

You know if you just read through all the threads on /fringe/ you'll find a lot of valuable stuff right? There's a lot of OC on here and some other material posted everywhere.

I've skimmed through the Kybalion and Aleister Crowley is confusing. Right now I'm reading EVERYTHING, haha. I just don't know what rituals I should practice (for practice) but I guess I just have to do the rituals to find out. For some reason, when I do rituals, even basic ones like LBRP, I get nervous and scared fkr some reason.

No.4122>>4128>>4144

Yeah I've read the sticky, but like I said I can't download .pdf's and shit.

I'll have to look into chaos magic…

I've The Book of The Law and some other Thelema shit and it was all useless crap. I ignore Thelema now. The only thing good that comes out of the Thelema philosophy is its emphasis on the Will as the means to get shit done.

Why the heck do you get nervous and scared? That wrecks your ritual and guarantees it's going to go badly. I personally got into magic while suicidal so I wanted to die while doing magic and the result was that I was really good at magic because my wanting to die made me unafraid of anything.

>>4122
Chaos magic is the best paradigm. In chaos magic we manipulate our beliefs to accept anything then drop them when we don't need them anymore. Check out the IOT thread on /fringe/ it tells basically what we do in chaos magic.

No.4139>>4141
>>4128
I have no clue why I get nervous. I was suicidal a few months ago… weird. But I imagine if I read and memorize the ritual and know what the outcome ks going to be, along with planning the ritual out in my bead should rid my anxiousness.

No.4141>>4143
>>4139
I should write down more of my rituals. I just make them up myself or learn them in the astral without really doing stuff from books and they work well. For me it has been very important to break down the ritual and understand each part of it very well so I have a clear understanding of what I'm doing. I don't think most people will succeed with ritual when they don't understand the bigger picture of what they're doing.

I guess I'll figure it out in time. Chaos magick seems really interesting to me but I don't quite understand the concept, I'll read more later.

Thank you for everyone who helped me, I appreciate it.

Do what I did first and just read fucking every result in the grimoars site that has to do with chaos magick and take notes. Like literally, have a notes thing open, and write down about what chaos magic is and what facts you've discerned about it.

Not him but right this very moment I'm downloading every single chaos magic book in the grimoars library and I intend to read and take notes from ALL OF THEM. This and Hermetic magic shall make me a very powerful wizard.

(A few of the books might be irrelevant despite containing chaos in their name or tags and will be skipped of course)

Pic related is everything I have dl'd so far.

Will be taking notes on all this shit and compiling it into my own magic book.

Indeed it's a wonderful paradigm man. The occult is in general very eclectic. Chaos magick is the ultimate expression of this eclecticism.

It's in the /fringe/ sticky. There's actually two download links there. Personally I have 3 different copies of the book (2001 edition, 1956 or whatever the fuck year it was edition, and the original).

I prefer the 2001 edition.

OP here, all I have is these:

-A Chaos Magick Grimoire
-Condensed Chaos
-Prometheus Rising
-Liber Null and Psychonaut (Amazing read!)

Then I have some other book that isn't very good, I forget the name. I'm building up my library, slowly haha.

Have you read them all? If so – what greenpills have you found inside of them?

No.4335>>4360
>>4334
I've skimmed through each book, so I haven't sat down and read them. I forgot to mention a book on Technomancy (I forget what, I'll have to go through my flashdrige in a moment) but it was utter bullshit to me besides the huge list of deities I could summon later on when I'm experienced.

I don't really have any greenpills atm; I just skimmed through, looking at rituals.

Well, I guess I learned one:
Someone who doesn't know what the answer to a magick question will most likely say verbal diarreah out their mouths, but a true Novice will say "I haven't a fucking clue."

No.4360>>4365
>>4335
The thing about rituals is it's more important to understand the principles behind rituals which make them work… and when you understand that then you'll know how to just make your own rituals at anytime. Lists of rituals are useless, knowing how rituals work and are constructed is what counts.

No.4365
>>4360
Well, thats obvious. I don't really need any rituals as of now besides banishing rituals before I meditate/yoga. I'm definetly going to study and shit before I delve any deeper.

Ikr. I don't know what the fuck I was thinking. I guess it's because when you first delve into something you're looking at the most mainstream shit that pops up. I'm glad I got around it all… I didn't wen do anything in Wicca thelema or goetia I just read about it.
