I find it so much easier to meditate on substances such as lsd, shrooms, and peyote. is this cheating? should i only be meditating without the help of substances?

Yes.

Yes or you become dependent on it.

Same principle as don't use anti-biotic soap all the time or you'll have no immune system, don't drive a car everywhere or you won't get much walking done and will be physically weak, don't always use a calculator for basic math problems or you'll have a hard time doing them in your head, etc.

It may make it easier… but you want to develop yourself to a point where doing this stuff without any aids is effortless.
