Report all anomalies, reality glitches, etc. that you experience here in this thread.

Today I have encountered two anomalies.

1. While I was eating, my fork suddenly got stuck to my teeth, and I could not pull it away. It seems that a very strong psychokinetic force attached the fork to my mouth. I tried very hard to pull the fork out of my mouth but could not. Then after awhile attractive force seemed to have dissipated in an instance and I was able to easily take the fork out. I tried after that to get the fork to stick again but couldn't. That was very odd.
2. Later on, same day, I was looking at fire and some of the flames were going horizontal → this way and not bening upwards at all. Like a blow torch or something. Seemingly defying gravity. It was very weird. It kept up a good long while but when I focused on it too much and thought about how weird it was, it then corrected itself.

Pic possibly related.

>going vertical → this way
That's called horizontal, m8.

Oh yeah sorry, fuck. It was horizontal.

Also I am not sure that my fork is of a material attracted by magnets so I should have said psychokinetic force rather than magnetic force.

I have seen / had anomalous experiences of lights going out and escaping from their bulbs. Like an orb of light moving quickly around the room. Also other weird shit like lights going dim around me and then brightening up.

I have found that belief is indeed an important tool in magic.

I had for a time succeeded in forming a belief fully, such that I absolutely believed in it, held it to be true, etc. and it made me very calm and gave me a sense of well-being.

The condition of my body healed, I slept well, skin was in a better condition, etc.

Then someone suggested my belief was wrong. They didn't give me any reason to believe it was wrong but it was enough to put doubt into me. It ruined my magical effort, I couldn't sleep, I developed itches, skin problems, etc. and fell into despair.

It was like a curse. Indeed I think that suggestions may be a way to curse people, just tell them something harmful, and put energy behind it and direct it towards them.

It is so subtle yet all around us. Belief can be used as a tool, like in chaos magic, a meta-belief in order to carry out a magical effect. You need to get over the embarrassment that comes with the fedora mindset and keep your mind fluid and make belief work for you.

Your beliefs can heal your body and unlock new experiences, they can open up you up to what you'd previously thought was impossible or couldn't even imagine previously. Being able to form and dissolve beliefs and have faith in them is an important skill for the magician.

Is it anomalous if it's deliberate?
(pretty weak and pathetic) demons have tried to shake my belief in certain things I hold to be important, absolute faith is a must in such cases. I don't even think about doubts, I push them out of my mind where they wither and die, like what I do when someone says "Don't think about polar bears". I'm surprised most people fail at tasks like that, but that's getting a bit off topic. Maybe for another thread.
I still make a distinction between things I believe and things I have evidence for and am willing to tell others about though, I don't know if that's a good idea.

Gypsys have a strong culture of cursing people and I was once "cursed" by one of them (I was a bit of an asshole to him and got pissed enough to but a 40 year curse on me). I don't believe that he put much energy into it and said it more out of anger, which of course has power in it aswell but I doubt that it was properly directed (or even intended. It seemed more like he just said his cultures "fuck you" to me. However, the thing I .. *sigh, fear is my own fear of it being true. Like a self-fulfilling prophesy, like the example of "don't think about polar bears" (>>1699) where the thing we try to repress becomes our main focus. Belief IS a powerful tool/force and this "curse" is like on of those beliefs gone wrong, where you believe you are cursed then it creates negative thoughts which, in turn, fuck shit up.
I don't take this seriously though.

You don't take that particular instance seriously or the whole idea of meta-beliefs as a tool as defined in chaos magic seriously?

If you don't see that belief is useful and necessary to various magical acts, you can conduct your own experiments to see how important it really is.

No.1704

Yes and no. I take it seriously to the extent that I know it to be true, but I do not at the moment practice it.

Held my hand in a candle flame and it left a black soot all over me but did not burn me. This is a very anomalous event.
