Yes you can browse it and I suggest you get a newer version that can actually upload things, I just have one of the originals. It's very good it's just my Kindle is old as dirt haha

You can download different browsers and there is only one oerating system that everyone has, it's not that bad. Look up Kindle reviews on YouTube to get the one you like best and to see what it looks like
