I have heard that the term "Nirvana" means "extinguishment".
I have heard that what "Nirvana" is… is essentially to attain "death" or more appropriately to 'attain' "soul sleep" (such as non-existence and freedom away from reincarnation).
This concept is opposed to let's say the concept of "immortality", like you see in Christendom or in Islam.
I have never given Buddhism an adequate and proper bout of research.
What does "Nirvana" mean?
