nice non-arbitrary digits :^)
This post(s) is(are) going to be a summary of my personal experience/study. One thing that is inescapable, seemingly, is that the harder you try to explain certain things in prose or 'common english' the further away from what you intended to explain it gets. Also, explaining it as it desires to be written lends to wandering thoughts and massive digression. Being that as it is, I am just going to write until I am done writing, if I find myself straying I will not fight it but instead let it flow. So take the following for what it is, with the above disclaimer in mind.
When the question of what is true and what is not comes up, often the best way forward is to work backwards. Retrace your steps until you have those most fundamental things that you can say are true. Who are you? What is all of this? Why? How? Those questions all have answers, and you already know them, but chances are you forgot. When did you forget? That doesn't really matter, or does it? Was it before conception? In the womb? Was it instructed out of you in school?
You are you. Everything of your life is the culmination of what you see, hear and feel. Your brain interprets those senses and processes them as your life experience. But who are you? Who is reading this? The flesh? The mind? Is it possible that your flesh is but a vessel? Your mind the pilot? Could there be a co-pilot? If there are a pilot, and maybe a co-pilot, could there be a captain? What is this vessel's berth?
How easy it is for the most fundamental of concepts to become abstract beyond comprehension. Is attempting to comprehend such concepts a fool's errand? Maybe? Maybe not?
All of the various religions contain within them information that can be quantified as solid, if a bit cryptic. But does any contain the full mystery novel? In the bible, it is said that the deceiver shows comes with (shows himself) with (in) the mist. What mist? The mystery? Or, maybe, actual mist? As in the refraction of light in a mist is the essence of the deceiver? A rainbow? What is a rainbow? It comes with/after the rain, and causes light to bow (bend). It comes with/after the rain and causes light to become deceiving.
Now, that seems to imply that the deceiver works directly against the senses. So then, who are you? What is all of this? If the devil deceives the senses, and who you are is greatly affected by that which you see, hear and feel. Then the only thing you can hold to be true is that you have been deceived.
Therefor, until you can prove otherwise, it is most likely a bad idea to seek wisdom from any one source, especially a source written in a world where the only truth that can be proven is that we have all been deceived. Does this mean all is lost? No, absolutely not. The truth is right in front of you. The bible has another clue that many have probably heard: "God is the truth. He is the stone that the builder casts aside. Look under a rock and there you will find Him." What is a stone that the builder casts aside? A stone with imperfections. It is in those imperfections, and in the nature that you find under the stone, that you will find a pattern of patterns. Follow that rabbit all the way down his hole until you find yourself standing outside of that hole where you first saw the rabbit. Our Father who ART in heaven. Get yourself a blank canvas and paint it with no thought of what it will look like at the end. Allow the painting to paint itself. And then treasure it, it is a message just for you.. Figure out how to read it.
