The rules are simple and mostly apply to the creation of threads on /fringe/:
1. No duplicate threads of topics that already exist unless the previous thread has hit the bump limit
2. No making threads just to ask questions, actually present substantial information if you're going to make a thread
3. No creating new threads purely to no-effort shitpost (you will be forgiven if it's a major GET)
4. Post threads that fall under the subject matter of /fringe/ (creepypasta is not allowed here, take that to /x/)
5. Respect anonymity. No identifying posts.
6. Do not sit on the default flag or post with no flag all the time
7. Do not raid/attack the board

This may not be the most welcoming of places for this, but is any one up for the discussion of Christian esotericism and mysticism (Theosophy, Martinism, Rosicrucianism, and so on)?

From the Renaissance up until the rise of Crowley the majority of esoteric/occult practice in the West was based upon Christianity and practiced by Christians.

Martinism specifically is the tradition that I find myself most drawn to, anyone here experienced in it?

of all these only gnosticism and its offshoots are better received.

All Christian mysticism derives from ancient Hebrew Kabbalistic Mysticism. Whatever you do end up getting into. Make sure you pay attention to the Kabbalah and it's relevance.

This. It's all tainted. I've been looking for a sect that's more Lutheran in nature and concentrates on the new testament esotericism. The goal is the Kingdom of God and the Father,Son, and Holy Spirit (trinity) are gate and key.

The primary problem that I see is with the assumption of a fall of man from a higher state versus man evolving from a primordial state towards a higher state.

"We used to be awesome, then someone fucked up and now we are all sinners in need of external rescue."

I think your going to find the purest pursuit of spiritual wisdom through an enforced simplistic faith in something greater than yourself guiding you towards becoming a higher evolved being.

Enforced because you have to quiet your mind and rely more on intuition and simple acts of honest prayer that you normally would consider to be beneath you.

Based on my experience mostly, and from what I've read of others, this reality seeks to keep as many people here as possible. Running on the hamster wheel.

This includes endless rabbit trails of religion to chase.

But the meme of Christ resonates because it is a higher being offering assistance to lower beings. It isn't in loyalty to a specific system of belief but of real time experience of utilizing higher consciousness to navigate in daily life while avoiding the traps and pitfalls that keep people enmeshed in this current world system.

The fall of men is an evolution from a primordial state.

The fall implies that we were once perfect but lost that position.

I don't think its accurate and that it is in fact a "Chinese finger trap" to push the idea of "sin" on people.

Instead of learning and understanding the biological nature of our existence we are taught to look down on it, avoid it, deny it as being "the flesh" and part of what robbed us from our previous awesomeness.

I think the reality is that we are evolving consciousness. And part of that evolution is understanding how our biological constructs influence our behavior. Learning and adjusting accordingly. Meanwhile this reality just wants to keep on rolling. A complex organic ecosystem dedicated to maintaining its existence. Another challenge we have to learn about and adjust accordingly in order to continue on our ever evolving path.

You can't blame a mosquito for doing what it was created to do, but it also doesn't stop us from draining puddles.
