You know something I found annoying when listening to the documentaries I was listening to about the Greek gods and how the people supposedly thought about and related to them, they didn't acknowledge that even back then there was an incredible diversity of thought about them, and so you had the full range of views from the "forces of nature" to the "archetypal" to the "literal" to "ancestors/humans that embodied a concept" to " symbolical" to atheist "don't believe in no gods" types. It wasn't really much different from today other than that they were all fit, had a widespread appreciation for aesthetics, had better diets and lifestyles, and had stronger minds in many ways than average people of today. The last hundred years have somehow enabled a very crude humanity to exist that normally would not have.

Anyways praying at a statue isn't a bad idea if you know how to pray right. If you have any questions go ahead.

The way this documentary I was listening to talked they portrayed the Greeks as all seeing their gods in the same very particular way that they laid out.
